Durgadevi Saraf Institute of Management Studies (DSIMS) organised Post Budget Session on 19 March, 2016, under the banner of DSIMS Economics Club, Arthashastra. Mr Paresh Parekh, Partner Ernst & Young, delivered the key note address on Transforming Indian Economy. There was an interactive Panel Discussion moderated by in-house Economist. The eminent Panellists, Mr Parekh and Mr Alpesh H Gandhi, Associate Director BMR Advisors have covered all the nine pillars mentioned in the budget as a special category, right from Education to Start Up initiative, E- Commerce etc. Mr Parekh specially enlightened young DSIMSians about Union Budget 2016’s impact on FMCG, CPG of Modern Trade with respect to allowance of 100% FDI in Retail, impact on Rural India and Transfer Pricing Issues with respect to BEPS of OECDs. Mr Alpesh discussed on Equalisation Levy, Patent Box Regime & major Tax reforms of 2016. Listening to the expert opinion of erudite panellists on the different facets of Budget 2016 was an enriching learning experience for DSIMS students.
